“Gather the flowers, but spare the buds.”
I’m fascinated by the shapes and forms tulip petals make as they dry.
I thought I would take a break from the edible and return to the floral.
A friend (and florist) identified this as a parrot tulip. Have a wonderful weekend.
Another of our “novelty” tulips.
We saw these at the the market labelled “novelty tulips”. I think they are quite lovely.
It’s not clear to me why I overlooked this image. I try to post images I’ve taken within the last 48 hours. In this case I have to make an exception. It is a few weeks old.
I suspect that the tulip season is coming to a close. We went out today looking for specimens in the “wild”. Those I found were more or less past their prime. The good news is that spring has just begun and the floral display (like the weather) is just heating up.
This is the first time I’ve encountered a single tulip stem with multiple blooms. It also reminds me of “The Kiss”
Another tulip in my ongoing effort to encourage spring to stick around.
