While waiting for the snow I ponder how tulips have come to represent spring to me. Not at all unusual I know but for many a year I paid no attention to them.
I took a break from the flowering quince to capture this lisianthus bloom.
We continue our exploration of the quince blossoms. Have a wonderful weekend.
My partner insisted that we purchase a flowering quince limb at the florists. I expect I will be subjecting it to scrutiny over the next few days. It’s also a nice reminder that spring will come.
It would appear that I was more intrigued by the stems than the flowers.
I believe that this is the first carnation to appear in this blog. I’m not sure what took so long.
“Beyond their intrinsic beauty, ranunculus flowers have another virtue: they last indoors about 7 days after cutting.” ( http://www.garden.org )
Do enjoy the first weekend of the New Year!
I came across a bunch of chrysanthemum at the grocers yesterday.
These tulips lasted only a few days. They were certainly marvelous while they were here.
