My partner came home this afternoon bearing gifts, in this case a leaf. She suggested that it would make a good subject as it looked like leather. I think she was right.
I’ve learned something from my grandson, the value of collecting leaves. Whenever we go for a walk he collects a variety of rocks and leaves. He then hides them so he can retrieve them on our next walk. I picked up this leaf a few days ago and hid it until today.
I took a break during yesterday’s stroll to observe my grandson in action. He is almost 8 and engaged in an assortment of age appropriate behaviors including: collecting rocks, collecting leaves and chasing the occasional squirrel. After a time I took a break from my observations to view the neighbor sharing the bench with me. For some reason I decided it made for an appealing picture.
